Bappu Surat Singh Khalsa Hunger Strike

Surat Singh Khalsa (born 7 March 1933), also known as "Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa" is a civil rights and political activist, from the Indian state of Punjab. Surat Singh Khalsa has been involved with various political struggles related to Sikhs in punjab however he is currently in the limelight for a hunger strike as a form of peaceful protest against illegal and prolonged detention of political prisoners.

On 16 January 2015, Surat Singh Khalsa began a hunger strike which is still ongoing.  He has refused food and water to seek the release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their court sentences. Where he is seeking release of Sikh political prisoners, he has also called for unconditional release of prisoners of all religions who have completed their terms.
On 11 February 2015, Surat Singh Khalsa wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi explaining the motive of his hunger strike. In his letter, Surat Singh Khalsa summed up his demands in two points-----

Treat all Sikh prisoners –under trials and those sentenced in cases relating to the Sikh struggle- as political prisoners and

Release all prisoners who have completed their full jail terms and are legitimately due for release, exactly in the same manner, as other prisoners are so released in various other parts of the country.

A number of Sikh Political Prisoners are languishing in jails despite having completed their sentences. Many of these prisoners are released on parole on yearly basis. These prisoners can be granted permanent parole or be released on bail as there are no pending charges against them. In addition, Surat Singh Khalsa is seeking release of senior citizens based on humanitarian grounds. There are at least 8 such prisoners who have been sentenced under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act for their involvement in a bank robbery case that took place in Ludhiana. This law has already lapsed and has been deemed as controversial by human rights organizations, as well as the United Nations.

Formal Detentions

On February 26, 2015, Surat Singh Khalsa and his son, Ravinder Jeet Singh, a US citizen, were arrested in Ludhiana, Punjab (India) under "preventive charges".[7] At time of his arrest, Surat Singh Khalsa was peacefully protesting for release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their terms. His son, Ravinder Jeet was merely accompanying his father at a hospital in Ludhiana (Punjab, India) when they were both arrested. In addition,Surinder Singh of Talking Punjab and others were also detained for brief periods. After intervention of the President of India and alleged pressure by various US Congressman, Surat Singh Khalsa and Ravinder Jeet Singh were released.

Before his formal detention, Surat Singh Khalsa was picked up from his residence in Hassanpur on 8 February 2015, where he had commenced his hunger strike. His arrest was informal, without any charges. He was taken to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana. Until February 26, 2015, family members and supporters continued to visit him, however later the police turned the informal detention to a virtual arrest, turning the hospital into a police station.

After being released on 23 April 2015, he was once again picked up on June 1st and detained at the Ludhiana's DMC Hero Heart Hospital for 18 days. On June 18, he was transferred to Chandigarh's PGI Hospital and kept there until June 22nd when he was released and allowed to return to his Hassanpur residence.

Again, on July 20th, he was taken into custody at Ludhiana's Civil Hospital on July 20th, and kept there for 3 days to be later transferred to the DMC Hero Heart Hospital once again on July 22 until August 15, for 12 days.

Lifelong political activism

Surat Singh Khalsa has been involved with human rights activism since early 1970s. Ever since being initiated as a Khalsa in 1972 in Bombay, India, Surat Singh Khalsa has advocated human rights, and spoke out against injustices to Sikhs and other minorities living in India. During the Dharam Yudh Morcha (a political movement launched by the Sikhs for equal rights] of 1980’s, he served as an adviser.


He resigned his post as government teacher on June 5, 1984 in the aftermath of Operation Bluestar in June 1984. Continuing with his advocacy for human rights, he served as the secretary of the United Akali Dal under the leadership of Baba Joginder Singh Rode (father of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale). He remained active in the UAD until late 1987. During a protest rally at Punjab Legislative Assembly in February 1986, an unprovoked police firing resulted in Surat Singh Khalsa being hit by a bullet on his legs. He continued to remain politically active and has been detained in various jails, including Chandigarh, Nabha, Patiala and Amritsar in Punjab, as well as Kurukshetra, Rohtak and Ambala in Haryana during 1980s.

He immigrated to the USA and became a Green Card holder in 1988. All children (five daughters and a son) are US nationals. He continued to remain active towards Sikh political issues and continued travelling to Punjab from the USA frequently.

After Amb Sahib Morcha of November 2013 and Lakhnaur Sahib campaign in November 2014, Surat Singh Khalsa decided to stand up for those detained unconstitutionally. During the first campaign for the release of Sikh political prisoners, Surat Singh Khalsa had announced that if anything was to happen to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, he would personally under indefinite fast-onto-death until Sikh political prisoners were released. When Bhai Gurbaksh Singh had commenced his 2nd hunger strike, Surat Singh Khalsa traveled to Punjab from USA to express his support. However, after the conclusion of the second hunger strike as well by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, Surat Singh Khalsa announced to undergo hunger strike in place of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh.

Assassination of son-in-law

On August 16, 2015, at 11:45 PM, Satwinder Singh Bhola, son-in-law was killed under mysterious circumstances. Investigations are still going on, while local officials have ruled out possibility of robbery. Even though he was murdered shortly after locking up his shop and had 2000 dollars in his pocket after death.


He is on hunger Strike for more then 8 months and our news channels are still quiet. No coverage  on
Bappu's Matter. Indian media is completely on silent mode regarding this issue. May God bless bappu Surat Singh Health and give some kind heart to Indian Government specially Punjab Government to understand the feelings of Sikh Community.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim is alleged to rape and kill woman disciples of his Dera and then the journalist who exposed him, he kille his driver also who leaked information about him. Other then this he allegedly copied 10th master by wearing similar attire and preparing seven beloved, (two more then Guru). this way he tried his supremacy upon Guru Gobind Singh ji.

The Baba and his ongoings;

The Baba Ram Rahim Singh is the present Guru of the sect known as Dera Saccha Sauda at Hissar in Haryana. This Dera was set by Shah Satnam Singh who declared Gurmeet Singh alias Baba Ram Rahim Singh as heir of his sect.

In May 2007, this Baba robed himself alike 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh ji and appeared in his disciples. He acted in the same manner to baptize his followers like earlier done by Guru Gobind Singh ji. This act of him up roared Sikhs whose sentiments were hurt by his such mean act of copying the holy Guru.

This controversy caused violence in Sikhs and the followers of Baba.The whole northern India was on unrest and disturbed continuously for six days, in this violence which broke-out at several places, one Sikh person was killed by his bodyguards and over a hundred were wounded.

Though the public relations officer of the sect Saccha Sauda apologized in a press release soon after on 20th May and repeatedly on 27th May but the apology was made in a manner to show as they were obliging Sikhs which was immediealy rejected by Akal-Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs.

A criminal case was registered against Baba Ram Rahim Singh in Bathinda, where the clashes were started on behest of Baba on 20th May and arrest warrant against him were issued to arrest him by ACJM of Bathinda (Punjab).

The proceedings against Baba were not stopped here;

The case by CBI was on snail’s race but the High court of Haryana and Punjab ordered CBI to submit it’s report before 31st Aug 07. He got interim bail in Oct. 07 in murder & rape case by special court of CBI.

The disclosure of rape of a female disciple was brought in notice of public by a news published in a news paper ‘PURA SACH’, in which the allegations were made by an anonymous letter written to the President, Prime Minister,Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab, Judges of high courts of Haryana and Punjab, Supreme court, DGP of Haryana by a female disciple that she and about 50 other females disciples were raped by Baba Ram Rahim Singh in premises of Dera Saccha Sauda, Hissar.

Soon after this news was published the journalist Ram Chandra Chatrapati was killed. The case was handed over to CBI,j ust by that time another follower of the Dera, Ranjit Singh was also killed. This aroused the suspense and the father of the deceased clearly raised his finger upon Baba Ram Rahim. He directly alleged him of murdering his son, CBI included this murder case also in it’s list.CBI did not give any clean chit to Baba means that they consider him guilty and have some proves against Baba.

A statement of Khatta Singh, (the driver of Baba Ram Rahim Siangh)was recorded by a hidden camera, by the team of Tahalka and India TV in a sting operation for CBI which proves the allegations made by the female devotee and confirms the murders with the consent of Baba’s in the case.

After one year again on 20th June 08, one more Sikh devotee was killed in Bombay (Mumbai), in shoot out by body-guards of Baba, which paralyzed the normal life in Bombay and surrounding areas.

Last year Akal Takhat had called for the social boycott of Dera chief and his followers after the said incidents stated above.

So far, neither Baba is given any clean chit in any case of rape, murder, conspiracy, provocation of riots nor any verdict to sentence him to prison is delivered. Sikhs are generally denied of justice and their rights in this free India and their enemies are allowed to spit venom against Sikh religion by giving protection to move scotfree under cover of commandos. If complains than the Sikhs faces the discrimination and the youth are tortured to death in democratic India.

A short video of comments  made by  AAP’s  Kumar  Vishwas have gone viral on social network. He used negative comments against Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindrawale.  He said that Sant Bhindrawale  was an agent of Indira Gandhi and afterwards he came against her.

Sikhs in large numbers asked Vishwas to take back his comment and also spread the  message of not supporting  Aam Aadmi Party due to his continuous comments against the Sikh Community.

Kumar Vishwas is a Hindi-language performance poet and an Indian politician and National Executive of Aam Aadmi Party hurt Sikh people religious sentiments by insulting Sant Bhindrawale. Delhi youth  support AAP due to Kejriwal’s dedication to provide corruption free country. But now Kumar Vishwas it taking unnecessary advantage for his post which he doesn’t deserve.

: Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas has been booked for hurting religious sentiments with his remarks in some videos available online.

The FIR against Vishwas was filed by Ram Prasad Mishra, general secretary of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Sewa Samiti, for hurting religious sentiments by making remarks against Karbala

martyrs and some Hindu deities, police said on Monday.

Satish Gautam, in-charge of Mahanagar police station, said a case under IPC Sections 295 and 295(a) (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion) and Section 66(A) of the Information Technology Act was registered against Vishwas on Sunday.

Mishra said that Vishwas, the poet-turned-AAP-leader, in some videos had made remarks that hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and Muslims, police said, adding it would go through the videos to investigate the charges. This is the third such FIR against the AAP leader.

MUZAFFARNAGAR, UTTAR PRADESH:----
A complaint was  filed against poet-turned-Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas in a local court for "hurting religious sentiments".

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sita Ram has fixed January 14 for recording of statement of the complainant in the case.

A local lawyer, Kamran Hasnan, has filed a private complaint under section 153A of the IPC (hurting religious sentiments) against the AAP leader.

The complainant alleged that he had hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims by making objectionable comments on the procession of Muharram during a Kavi Sammelan (poets' meet).

A complaint has been filed here against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during his discourses.
The complaint was lodged with the TT Nagar police station by local social activist Abhinav Chakradhar .

Chakradhar, who runs an NGO in the city has charged the poet-turned politician for deriding deities and hurting the religious beliefs of Hindus and Muslims in Mushairas and Kavi Sammelans held in the state and across the country.
The complainant said that his grievance has nothing to do with Vishwas being an AAP member.
"Making fun of politicians and celebrities was acceptable but Vishwas has crossed the line and was hurting religious beliefs," he alleged.
Chakradhar has also submitted a video footage of various programs in which Vishwas featured in many cities including Bhopal, in support of his charges.


This is the time to stop him. So AAP supporters should think that Kumar Vishwas should or should not be in AAP party. AAP party is our party Aam

September 2nd, Transport strike in India, in Delhi auto rickshaw drivers call for strike against Nano Car issue in Taxi by Delhi Government which charge 6-8 rs per kilometer. Auto Rickshaw driver rarely charge through meters, they have their own charge list as per Delhi people as a survey.
With lots of incidents, it happen on old Delhi Railway station late night, where auto rickshaw do not charge from meters they charge as per their own convenience.  If ask them to charge accordingly the meters , they refused and replied that meter charge auto you can hire from that corner of the road , which is 400 meters away from station.
One Incident I would like to share – in east Delhi Khajuri Chownk  to Kashmiri Gate Metro Station or ISBT , in this location people use sharing base auto where 7 people sit in single Auto exclude Driver. In this router there are not enough bus or other government transport available so people have to use Auto service and in whole day there is a 10rs fee or charge for 1 person in this router, but in office hours when Auto Rikshawala’s see that there is lot of crowd waiting for service, they start charging double. Its straight forward called robbery.  People are paying high amount to reach their destination.
For Delhi People it is a good start by Delhi Government so at least Auto Rickshaws will start taking fare fee from People. Use sharing auto is even not safe for people 7-8 people are sitting in single auto is dangerous, but people have to go through with this service because they don’t have other option. Hope Delhi Government will start working on this issue as well so  people from east delhi (karawal nagar , khajuri , wazirabad , Sonia vihar , bhajan pura ) can reach their destination safely.

Turn on your computer
Bring your cursor on extreme bottom right corner
Go to setting or in search box and type settings
Click on General option and right bottom click restart now
After reboot it’s give you an option, select Troubleshoot
Enter in UEFI Firmware Settings and select restart
It will bring BIOS Utility option


In  Windows 8.1 in settings select  Recovery option and choose Restart it will show these options.
